Countdown to Christmas: Our Favourite Seasonal Coffees

As December is here, many people look forward to those warm drinks that make them feel cosy and comforting. Well, we have created a range of festive coffees and winter treats that capture the spirit of the season.

What Makes a Coffee “Seasonal”?

Hands in a red sweater hold a white mug of latte with detailed leaf-shaped latte art, set against a cozy, blurred background featuring a stone fireplace and Christmas lights.

Seasonal coffees often reflects flavours linked with winter. These might include caramel sweetness, gentle spice, or even touches of citrus. Roasters create these coffees to suit colder days and evenings when people enjoy richer or warmer flavours.

Here at Ginger Monkey, we release a Christmas coffee each year, giving customers something special for December. All of our coffees are single origin except for Cool Beans Bro, which is our only blend. Seasonal coffees sit at the centre of many winter rituals and bring comfort through memorable flavours.

Our Top 5 Must-Try Christmas Coffee Flavours

A hand holds a mint green paper coffee cup with a black circular "Ginger Monkey" logo, placed on a wooden table with candy canes and gingerbread men. A Christmas tree and fireplace are blurred in the background.

  1. Jingle Bells

Jingle Bells is our Christmas single-origin Colombian coffee for this year. It offers notes of toffee pennies, candied orange and toasted walnuts. We enjoy this roast because it feels warm, smooth and full of festive character. It’s a lovely choice for mornings at home or relaxed evenings with family.

  1. Gingerbread Latte

The Gingerbread Syrup we offer in house brings soft sweetness with a gentle biscuit-like flavour. Many people enjoy this drink as a latte because the milk creates a smooth finish. It suits anyone who loves winter baking and comforting treats. It is a pleasant option for those who prefer something sweet without being too strong.

  1. Cinnamon Spice Coffee

Also on our Coffee Shop shelf this Christmas is the Cinnamon syrup, which adds a gentle glow without becoming overpowering. It pairs well with medium and even works nicely with a light sprinkle of cinnamon on top. It is a simple choice for people who enjoy a classic winter spice.

  1. Toasted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate

This drink feels indulgent and smooth. We swirl marshmallow fluff around the rim of the cup and toast it, giving the drink a nostalgic, fireside feel. Adding whipped cream or extra marshmallows creates an even richer cup. It’s ideal for cosy nights indoors, family moments during the holidays or even if you’re just popping in for a well-deserved treat!

  1. Mint Hot Chocolate

Mint Hot Chocolate brings a refreshing edge to a rich chocolate base. Many people enjoy it because it echoes classic Christmas sweets. It can be finished with cream or chocolate shavings for an extra treat. It offers a cool contrast to warm festive dishes.

How to Brew the Perfect Cup of Christmas Cheer

A person in a cream sweater uses a stainless steel espresso machine to brew coffee, with a bag of Ginger Monkey Coffee Roasters beans and whole coffee beans on the wooden counter. A cozy fire is in the background.

We love slowing down at Christmas, spending time with family and experimenting with coffees that need a little extra care. Our Geisha beans are perfect for this, especially when brewed as a pour-over using a V60 or Chemex.

Taking a few unhurried minutes to prepare your coffee, turning a simple cup into a festive ritual. It’s a lovely way to add calm, warmth and a touch of joy to busy December days.

Pairings That Will Make Your Holiday Coffees Shine

A plate of festive holiday cookies and pastries (including a gingerbread man and mini mince pie) sits next to a steaming striped red and green mug of coffee, with a blurred fireplace behind it.

Food pairings can bring out even more flavour in festive drinks. Our Ginger Monkey’s Christmas Sandwich returns each December and is packed with turkey, pigs in blankets, crispy shredded sprouts, tater tots, mayo, cranberry and there is even a pot of gravy! Jingle Bells works well beside this sandwich because its deeper notes complement savoury Christmas ingredients.

Sweet pairings also work beautifully. Mince pies, shortbread or ginger biscuits suit drinks such as the Gingerbread Latte or Cinnamon Spice Coffee. Toasted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate pairs nicely with simple biscuits, while Mint Hot Chocolate suits chocolate treats or lighter sweets.

More Than a Drink: The Story Behind Holiday Blends

A steaming mug of black coffee is placed next to a traditional wooden coffee grinder, whole walnuts, cinnamon sticks, and sprigs of holly, with a warm fireplace and twinkling Christmas lights in the background.

Festive blends grow from winter traditions. Roasters look toward flavours that feel familiar during December. Orange, nuts and spice are long-standing favourites because they bring back memories of past celebrations.

Ginger Monkey develops its Christmas drinks with this in mind. Customers enjoy seeing these limited selections return each year because they feel special and create a sense of seasonal anticipation.

All coffees are available to buy online and can be ground to order. Christmas is a time when many people gather with friends and family, making it the perfect moment to try new brewing methods or use new equipment you may have received as gifts. A thoughtful drink can shape a relaxing afternoon or a cheerful gathering, and Ginger Monkey has something ready for every moment of the season.
